December 2021 Newsletter

And just like that, 2021 is coming to an end. As we look forward to the new year, it's exciting to look back on the highlights 2021 brought the Texas Limousin Association.

While the year started off with uncertain plans due to the pandemic, the breed moved forward with hosting the 2021 Lone Star Shoot-Out show in San Angelo in February - awarding over $11,000 to exhibitors. Texas majors continued with much success and in April, the TLA hosted the 2021 Showcase Sale in Cameron, Texas.

Summer rolled around and Limousin exhibitors showcased their best cattle at the Texas Junior Limousin Field Day and at the National Junior Limousin Show and Congress in Grand Island, Nebraska.

In the fall, Limousin breeders hosted sales across the state and online, juniors continued to exhibit their cattle at local shows and the State Fair of Texas and more.

While it's important to reflect on the past, the association cannot wait for 2022 and what's to come. Our large endeavor of the year will be hosting the 2022 National Junior Limousin Show and Congress the last week of June in Amarillo, Texas. If you're part of the planning for the show, make sure your committee meets back up in the new year and reach out to Bret, Bruce or Leighton if you have any questions.

We are also still looking for sponsorships for Junior Nationals. If you or a business you know is interested in becoming a Junior National sponsor, contact us today for more information.

As we continue to plan for Junior Nationals in the summer, we are also gearing up for Texas majors. The Fort Worth Livestock Show kicks off in January, so make sure to save these important dates:

  • January 22 @ 11 a.m. - Texas Junior Limousin Meeting

  • January 22 @ 4 p.m. - Texas Limousin Shoot-Out Show

  • January 23 @ 8 a.m. - Fort Worth Junior Limousin Show

  • January 29 @ 12 p.m. - Fort Worth Open Limousin Show

  • January 29 @ 5 p.m. - Texas Limousin Annual Member Meeting

We look forward to seeing you down the road in 2021 and hope you have a wonderful holiday with family and friends. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Texas Limousin Association!
